Charles Victor Olmstead moved to Hines, Minnesota in 1904. He was engaged in farming and logging. On December 20, 1916 he married Olive Wentworth at Fort Ripley, Minnesota. Charles was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known for his talented gardening abilities and had a large, beautiful vegetable garden.
